The First Baptist Church of Freeport is a community of Christian believers who worship and obey God, love each other, and serve the world by announcing the Good News and doing good deeds. We give so that the Gospel can be preached in Freeport and in all parts of the world. We give for the relief of the poor. For 199 years we have given to support a place of worship and learning and service.
The following funds are used for various ministries:
The basic operating budget of the church funds our local mission. It enables us to provide preaching and pastoral care, worship and Christian education. God has gifted us with beautiful facilities and we want to keep them in good repair.
Special projects can enhance and expand our ministry. Also called the “THANK YOU FUND”, we desire to be good stewards by not borrowing money. We give so that our work can be done “debt free”.
Your gifts to this fund are distributed confidentially by the Deacons to the needy in the church and community.
This fund is for a building expansion to improve entry space, add bathrooms and a new nursery, expand the Vestry meeting area, add classrooms and office space, etc. Initial architectural drawings have been prepared.
Many designate special gifts for a particular mission or missionary. Some give memorial gifts or to special projects.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
