The First Baptist Church of Freeport exists to glorify God by proclaiming the excellencies of Jesus Christ in order to make disciples of all nations! We long for Jesus Christ to be known and worshipped by every man, woman, boy, and girl, and we believe God has given the church the task to work toward that end.
The following funds are used for various ministries:
CURRENT EXPENSES: The basic operating budget of the church funds our local mission. It enables us to provide preaching and pastoral care, worship and Christian education. God has gifted us with beautiful facilities and we want to keep them in good repair.
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND: Special projects can enhance and expand our ministry. Also called the “THANK YOU FUND”, we desire to be good stewards by not borrowing money. We give so that our work can be done “debt free”.
MISSION FUND: We give to support the wider mission of the church in the world. Giving to this fund is distributed to a variety of missions and missionaries.
DEACONS FUND FOR THE POOR: Your gifts to this fund are distributed confidentially by the Deacons to the needy in the church and community.
CHURCH EXPANSION FUND: This fund is for a building expansion to improve entry space, add bathrooms and a new nursery, expand the Vestry meeting area, add classrooms and office space, etc. Initial architectural drawings have been prepared.
SPECIAL: Many designate special gifts for a particular mission or missionary. Some give memorial gifts or to special projects.
